The screened deck, part I

About a month ago work began on the new screened-in deck. First up, demolition of the old:

deck half-way removed
Bye-bye broken hot tub

Several permitting delays later we finally have footings that will support the new deck.

under construction
A bit muddy following our first rain in a month

new footings
happy for cement!

Framing should be underway next week. The final deck will be ~12’x20′ with a shingled roof, a big honkin’ fan in the middle, two external screen doors, and a schnauzer-high set of wood slats to protect the screens. Can’t wait!
