Woke up this morning at 6:20am (ugh!) packed up our things and showered before heading off to our last breakfast buffet. By this time all we had to do was walk up to the hostess desk and they knew who we were, that we didn't smoke and that we preferred a table by the water. When we got back to our room we called the luggage valet to take our two bigger pieces of luggage, then called my parents to make sure they had set us up with a ride home from O'Hare.

We still had a bunch of pictures to take around the property. So we packed the car with our carry-on luggage and walked around to get photos of the tennis gardens, the waterfalls by the Kona Pool and Kamuela Provision Company, and "Shady," our Alero rental car.

We arrived at the airport early to make sure that we left ourselves enough time for the tightened security. It turns out that the security was more stupidly strict than tight and we had to repack a bunch of things into other bags so we ended up with only one carry on per person. Then we waited for our flight outdoors on uncomfortable wooden benches for over an hour. Once we got to Honolulu everything went more smoothly. The Wiki Wiki shuttle took us to the other side of the airport, we grabbed a medium TCBY, and waited for our flight.
Just as we were taking off from Honolulu, I managed to snap a few pics of Waikiki Beach and Diamondhead out of our plane window. The flight to Chicago, though shorter than the way there, seemed infinitely longer because of a child that could not be quiet or sit still for the entire 8-hour flight.

Ultimately we landed in Chicago at 5am no worse for the wear. A limo company picked us up and we were on our way home to a few more hours of sleep that we desperately needed. The end!

PS - though I left the aforementioned turtle picture at O'Hare, I managed to reclaim it the next day - whew :)
