Where’s Your Sense of Adventure?

because life is never that easy

I put the finishing touches on the laundry room this weekend, so I will post a photo of the completed project soon. I say this because I was waiting to start on our master bathroom until after we got the laundry room finished.

Heh.

Last week, we finally agreed on a wall color and the new floor tile and I am thrilled because it matches the Restoration Hardware towels I picked up on sale!

So, last night I gathered up my materials and got started on tearing down the wallpaper. This is the part where I mention that every other bathroom in this house had strippable wallpaper—except this one.

After tearing out shallow chunks of drywall (down to the brown core, oh yeah), I have resigned myself to the fact that this bathroom redux is going to be a miserable experience for the next week or so. Once I get all the colored bits down I’ll have to sand and patch the walls before priming and painting. This is the first time I’ve been grateful we have a small bathroom. My deadline of having this done before the family visits for Thanksgiving just became a little tighter.

I have about 1/8 of the room done and a lot more peeling in my future. Oh, and a big thanks to Eric and Todd for cutting the screws trapped in the wall with a hacksaw last night. Who uses gigantic metal wall anchors for a toliet paper roll holder? Really!?!
