Pandemic “Dinner and a Movie” Nights

Since we are still mostly housebound and missing travel we came up with the idea of pairing meals (and wine!) to the location of a movie. We’ve been wanting to watch the Before trilogy for a while, and it was a great starting point since they take place in foodie places like Vienna (Before Sunrise), Paris (Before Sunset), and Greece (Before Midnight).

Setting: Vienna

Menu:

Chicken schnitzel (homemade)
Cucumber Salad (homemade)
Spatzle (homemade)
Sachertorte (purchased @ Guglhupf)

Steak frites (grilled flank steak and Oreda french fries)
Chocolate dipped eclairs (homemade)

Setting: Greece

Menu:

Greek Chicken Kebabs (grilled chicken marinated in rosemary, olive oil, lemon)

Baklava – pistachio and walnut (Neomonde)
Wines: 2019 Greek Wine Cellars (D. Kourtakis) Assyrtiko (white), 2018 Greek Wine Cellars (D. Kourtakis) Agiorgitiko (red), Hermes Muscat Patras (sweet white) (purchased @ Total Wine)
