We stopped in Stirling for dinner on our way to a hotel near the Edinburgh airport, and given the lateness of sunset in late May we had enough light to enjoy some of the views. Stirling Castle is the prominent feature in town.

After dinner we walked from the center of town up the hill toward the castle.

The castle itself was closed for the day, but the views were great, plus there were only a few other people around.

As we walked back down the hill toward our car we detoured through the Mar’s Wark and Church of the Holy Rude.

Stirling was a nice stopping point on our drive back to Edinburgh and we hope to return to a few other spots nearby on our next trip.
