business class to Amsterdam!

Things have been a little slow around here (blog-wise) as not much more progress has been made on the screened porch (remind me to laugh about how long this took in about 2 years).

Recently, however, we beat the heat with a long-weekend trip to Amsterdam for my birthday. And because Eric scours flyer forums for good deals… we were able to get business class seats for about the same price as coach. Nice!

A big bird

Eric was super excited because we got to fly in the upper deck of this 747 from Detroit to Amsterdam. The food was tasty and the wine pairing also nice. I think every flight should start with a glass of champagne!

The seats folded down to nearly flat and we had lots of room to move around because we were in the bulkhead. The only downside was the lack of sleep because the flight was only 6.5 hours and we spent most of it eating, drinking and taking advantage of the in-flight programming! I know, I know, poor us.
