a little facelift

by | Oct 10, 2010 | Daily life, House

For several months we’ve noticed that the crack down the face of our front porch has been growing. It had been separating and joining with the seasons and rainfall, but almost a month and a half of drought made it much more noticeable.

Eric made some appointments and we picked RamJack to do our foundation repair. Three guys with shovels showed up at 8:30am and they were completely done by 3pm.

after two hours of digging

Thanks to a sewer line going right were one of the pillars needed to go, it took five total to support the house and prevent that corner from sinking further. In total, they lifted the house a full inch and I must say, it was a little nerve-racking to hear the house cracking when the hydraulic machines kicked in.

under our foundation
yes, that is the foundation of our home

before and after!

Not quite good as new, but definitely better.
