On the last weekend in March, we drove up to Boone for one night to see a good friend’s son in his dance performance at App State. We stayed at a mutual friend’s house on top of a mountain near Blowing Rock with some amazing views!

We decided to do some sight-seeing on the way, stopping at Two Boros Brewery in Wilkesboro for lunch and beers.

When we arrived in Boone for dinner it was rainy so we didn’t get a lot of photos, just some local art.

Dinner at The Social Boone was tasty, I got the shortrib hummus appetizer and Eric got the Korean hotdog appetizer. Their cocktails were on point too.

We only stayed overnight, and on the way back on Saturday we detoured to the highly rated Shiloh Country Store to pick up sandwiches. It was busy but efficient, with lots of people enjoying their lunch on the porch.

We had a different plan, so we continued to Incendiary Brewing’s Lewisville location and ate on the picnic tables.

Outside was quit popular with several birthday parties and a rescue dog organization. It was sunny but had a cool breeze, so we eventually retreated inside to the bar area to warm up. Definitely a nice stop on the way to mountains!
