We found Treviso to be very picturesque and a great value (even by Italy standards). Access to the city center is limited for cars and the compactness made it easy to explore on foot. Plus the canals and the River Sile snaking their way through town made for multiple picturesque views.

Add to that charm some porticos, squares and narrow streets – there was a lot to see and enjoy!

Two areas of note were the RAD (Restero Art District) art walk along the river, boasting several murals and mosaics, plus good views of the river and waterfowl.

We also enjoyed a stroll on the north side of town from the flea market near Porta San Tomaso to Porta Santi Quaranta, following the canals.

The combination of warm and friendly people and prices that were less than we found in larger cities like Bologna and Turino mean we would highly recommend a visit to Treviso!
