Maribor

Very comfortable space overall with a dedicated parking spot out front. Due to flight delays we arrived after 2am but were able to get inside with clear entry instructions. The outdoor patio space was very nice and the kitchen had most everything we needed – including fresh figs in the fridge! Good water pressure in the shower and nice towels. Minor quibbles: Pillows were a little lumpy and we could have used a microwave. The bathroom has a barn door that doesn’t close all the way but there is a latch and the toilet flush was very loud. Wifi: 182 download / 100 upload.

Lake Bled (House 24)

Nicely appointed with lots of space to relax. Kitchen had everything we needed – lots of pans, plates, etc. and a coffee pod machine. We liked that umbrellas and bikes were available to borrow, and it was walkable to grocery stores and the center of town. Bathroom had good water pressure and room for toiletries and window shades kept the space dark. Very quiet location and we appreciated a dedicated parking spot in town, as street parking and lots are pricey. Contactless check-in was quick and straightforward with good communication from host. Wifi: 125 down / 87 up. Disliked · Have to watch your head with the slanted ceilings.

Bovec (Apartment Bor)

The owner met us to give us the key and show us the place. Large living space with full living room, 2 bedrooms. Fairly quiet even in the center of town. Good water pressure in shower and on-demand hot water worked fine. Kitchen had lots of utensils and pans, just about everything we could need. We also appreciated the washing machine and large drying rack. Disliked – Wifi was slow and the mattress was a bit hard for us side-sleepers. No coffee.

We had a car so the dedicated parking spot about a 5 minute walk away was a huge plus. There are a few free spots in front of the apartment but they were rarely available. The large parking lot next to the building has free parking for the first hour which was nice for unloading and loading luggage. To get a free hour, hit the “Print ticket” button on the kiosk.

Ljubljana (City Hotel)

Very efficient check-in and we were upgraded to a comfort room on the 5th floor. Wifi was speedy, 140 / 180. Our room was rather worn with a very firm bed, but we only stayed one night so it was no big deal.

The included breakfast buffet was fairly extensive, with lots of fruit, pastries, multiple hot items. OJ was weak, but coffee was good, as was the fresh pineapple.
