Memory Monday: $120 worth of caviar in my belly

The first time I ever tried caviar was on a cruise ship at 17 years old during the captain’s cocktail hour. The only thing I remember about the taste was how salty it was. Fast forward many years later and nothing I have tried — nothing — has tasted as good as this…

caviar

Cathay Pacific offers this outrageously tasty caviar in their First Class cabin and because Eric doesn’t like caviar (silly man), I had his portion as well. On both flights. I figured it would have been obnoxious to ask for three tins per route so I stuck with just the two. :)

Extra style bonus for serving the fish roe in a custom glass holder accompanied by a mother of pearl spoon that I used to clean every last egg from the tin. YUM.
