A weekend around Lake Tahoe

In mid-October I spent 10 days at a conference in Davis, CA. With a free weekend I drove out to explore South Lake Tahoe, and wow, was I impressed at the landscape. Over several hikes I saw nine waterfalls, spawning salmon, and some amazingly scenic views. Proof:

Cascade Falls
Cascade Falls- getting this photo required bushwhacking up a creek, then a ~600′ scramble up a rock slide to get back to the parking lot…

I loved the views in Tahoe and there are plenty of remaining hikes I would like to try. Leandra wasn’t with me on this trip so we have a good excuse to return in the near future! Check out the rest of the photos on E&L Gallery.
