waterfalls in western NC

It’s always nice to be able to get away to the NC (or VA) mountains for at least one weekend in the fall. Although the first day was very sunny – great for hiking but not so good for waterfall photography – we had some cloud cover on Sunday, so Eric wasn’t frustrated the whole time.

We visited a bunch of falls that we haven’t been to before, thanks to this wonderfully helpful waterfall map that I got Eric for his birthday this year.

The dogs enjoyed themselves as well!

Surprisingly, there weren’t a lot of unpaved roads on this trip, normally we are praying for pavement at some point!
