stormy weather

We awoke this morning to pouring rain outside and while I know it makes the plants happy, it makes me want to crawl back into bed. Eric says this heavy rain is especially good for the trees, including our crepe myrtles. All the specimens around town are much thicker, but ours just have to make do with the little amount of sun they receive. I think it looks like the tree is holding numerous hot-pink pom poms!
