The massive Kölner Dom fills your view as you leave the Köln central train station. While the exterior could use a vigorous power-wash, it remains absolutely stunning.

fancy handle; impressive archway

The interior is cavernous, with massive mulch-columned beams supporting the roof. Everywhere you look is interesting detail, artwork, etc.

We wandered around the church for more than an hour finding different items of interest all over.

What would be an amazing front for most buildings is merely the side

After having our fill of the Dom we walked around town taking in other sights, including a Lego replica of the old town.

Hohenzollern Bridge, aka love lock bridge, was our last stop before lunch and then a much needed nap! The sheer expanse and number of locks is moving and quite fun.
