As we mentioned previously, we spent about a day and a half wandering around the island of St. Lucia and most of that time was spent in and around Soufriere on the southwest coast.
The next day, we drove back to visit the Diamond Falls gardens and get a shot of the most visited waterfall on the island. Surprisingly, the gardens were in good shape (after the hurricane last fall) and, I thought, worth the $5/person entrance fee. We didn’t get a photo of the colorful hummingbirds on the property but enjoyed watching them protect their territories.
we loved the varieties of tropical plants
While looking for another nearby waterfall, Toraille Falls, we stumbled upon the New Jerusalem mineral baths where we soaked our feet for a while in a very jungle-like setting. We later learned that the waterfall had been completely destroyed in the hurricane. Shame.
the deep pool we relaxed in…
These sites were all worth visiting and made me want to stay on this side of the island next time.
