postcrossing
We read about the website postcrossing.com a few months back but finally signed up this week. We’ve shipped off five postcards (the maximum allowed at one time) to Finland, Austria, Germany, Hawaii, and The Netherlands. Once someone receives your postcard and registers it, you become the next available address for someone else. So, the more you send, the more you receive!

Interestingly, the hardest part was finding local postcards! We don’t live in a “touristy” area so it’s been a bit of a challenge to find a representative local postcard. Luckily, the Hallmark store just down the road has a huge selection. :)
If all goes well, we will be showcasing the cards we receive from all over the world, so stay tuned!

You recently sent me a postcard thru postcrossing from your blog it sounds like I was one of your first (Hawaii).
Well anyway I just wanted to say that postcrossing is really fun. I love opening my mail box and seeing a new card inside. It just feels good to get mail that isn’t crap or bills. I love seeing pictures from around the world and seeing what they look like. Don’t get me wrong you get some strange cards sometimes but no card is a bad card. I recommend getting a big photo album to put your cards in so you have them all in one place so later you don’t have to sort them like your photos, hehe. I found a cheap album at Ross that holds 5 on a page with a map design on the cover. And please don’t forget to write your id number cause if you forget you don’t get a card in return.
And keep a watch in your mail I’ll be sending you a card in return.
Aloha!
P.S. I loved your pictures of the waterfalls.
Thanks Jessica! You were, in fact, in our first batch of cards, and I was very anxious to get one registered!
We plan on posting the cards we receive on Flickr and probably the good/interesting ones on here as well. :)
Did you join the postcrossing group (Postcrossing-The Postcard Exchange) project on flickr to post your cards on it?
We haven’t yet as we have not received any cards, but we plan to the minute we have something to share!
