Big Laurel Falls

Location: North Carolina
Directions: Take Hwy 64 about 7.5 miles past the Rufus Morgan Falls turnoff (Old Murphy Rd) and make a left at the sign to Standing Indian Campground. After about 2 miles turn right at the sign for Standing Indian Campground. (You'll pass Rainbow Springs Campground on the right after 0.7 miles.) Follow this road for almost 7 miles to the marked trailhead on the right. Follow the trail downhill and cross the bridge over the creek then make a right to the falls. We thought this moderately difficult 1.5 mile RT hike wasn't worth this small waterfall. The prettier Mooney Falls is nearby.
