I decided to try running around campus to practice some hills since the race will be rather hilly. My calves hurt like hell but once I got past the uphill bits to a flat run, I was surprised how strong I felt. I'll be sure to do plenty of stretching tonight before bed.

Biked on level 2 while reading Entertainment Weekly. My legs have recovered and I'm taking it easy until my race on Saturday.

Even though I woke up a half hour after my alarm went off, I still made it to the track this morning. I was going to only run 2 miles, but I still felt strong so I ran 3 with a quarter mile warm-up and cool-down walk.

pilates 0:40 Abs, thighs and butt workout. I concentrated on keeping my stomach muscles tight the whole time.

Walked around Callaway Gardens for the afternoon. A little disappointed in the variety of wildflowers but the butterfly enclosure was incredible.

Ran with Jenny Lynn and she certainly gave me a workout. I was very tired but it was wonderful to run along the water and look at the shorebirds.

day off I'm heading to a concert tonight in Atlanta and my hamstrings are a little tight from the swimming. Surprisingly, my neck and shoulders feel ok. Not looking forward to spending seven hours driving tomorrow though. Not sure how prepared for the race I'll be with all these days off. I need to run at least twice while in Florida.

Was in the pool at 6:15am. It's hard for me to tell when I'm tired in the pool cause the water's cool and there's no sweat. I got out of the pool after a half hour feeling dehydrated and flushed, but good. I alternated two laps breaststroke with two laps freestyle.

day off Spent most of the day pretty tired, I was going to go for a run this afternoon, but didn't. I was then going to do some Pilates, but wound up reading/editing Eric's paper and watching 24 instead.

Spent almost an hour on the stationary bike this afternoon sweating and reading Discover magazine. I've been pretty tired for the last few days, I think I need some more sleep.

day off Had every intention of going to the gym today, but Eric's car battery died and we had to wait for AAA for a few hours. Tomorrow it is.

pilates 0:20 My legs are a bit achy from the run yesterday, so I did a 20 minute ab and core workout from my Pilates DVD.

Went out for a quick run around campus this afternoon. My legs felt fine, but my torso was cramping pretty bad. Could be the cold air or the fact that I need to get back into shape.

day off Signed up for the Jog for Justice 5K on May 1st to get me motivated. I haven't been excercising that much due to travel and general laziness. The Pilates DVD last night felt great!
