It looks like our camping plans have been postponed until the end of October which means I will be finishing up the painting in the bathroom and hopefully get a chance to work on a pastel painting or two. I have a couple of big projects coming up at work and otherwise so I am planning on being pretty busy with computer stuff over the next few weeks. I also need to go for a few more runs before my race next weekend. I know I can jog three miles at this point, but I'd like to not be completely exhausted afterward. :)

Even though my allergies seem to be taking over, I had a relaxing weekend. Now maybe I can get that bathroom painted before my sister and Eric's aunt come to visit us...
So I signed up for this 5K at work and I now have a personal page where anyone can donate money to the cause if they want to... end of solicitation. :)

During our quarterly staff meeting yesterday, I opened my big mouth and signed up for a 5K on October 8. That would be 3 weeks away. From now. Eric stayed late for a talk on campus after work and I went for the first run I've been on in months. I only ran for about 20 minutes but I felt like I could've gone longer. My legs are a bit sore today, but I (obviously) need to get back in running shape so I don't embarass myself in front of my co-workers. All for a good cause of course, but still. We are planning a bike trip to a local park this weekend, so I need to save up some energy for that too.
I've also taken on another freelance project that I will be getting started on shortly. It's for a student here at UNC who is also a musician.

Finally! Kim Clijsters wins a major! I couldn't be happier for her!
We spent the day organizing and watching plenty of football and tennis. Both UGA and Illinois won, so I am a happy camper. :) While putting a bunch of stuff in the attic, Eric noticed an old draft table in the corner. We brought it down and reassembled it and now I have a great slanted table for my pastels and scrapbooking.
We celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary on Thursday with a dinner out (my parents treat!) at Restaurant Starlu in Durham. Delicious! We started with martinis and a fried rice/cheese appetizer in a basil broth. Then we split a bottle of Landmark chardonnay over a double-thick pork chop (me) and Starlu's fifth burger (eric). We ended the lovely meal with a generous portion or flourless chocolate cake. See the menu here.
