I spent the end of last week and part of the weekend working on some Christmas crafts to give to friends and family this year. I always find myself picking up little things with grand plans as to what wonderful thing I will create, then it sits in my art tote until I forget I even have it. This year, however, my siblings and I agreed to give only little gifts and go out to dinner instead of struggling to find the perfect thing. So I am enjoying spending less money and more time on gifts this year.

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I was paid in artwork for a website I created... Eric took some photos...

I also made some pistachio brittle this weekend that has been a huge hit with everyone who's tried it. I'll post the recipe soon.

Our trip to South Carolina for the weekend was great fun. We didn't stay out too late on Halloween, so we were on the road by 10:30am.

We visited one waterfall before securing a tent site at Oconee State Park. I needn't have worried about not getting a spot, we were the only people within sight distance of our campground. Although there were plenty of RVs, not many people were tent camping. After setting up our tent, we hiked to a few more falls, some of which included climbing more so than hiking. The drive up SR28 was absolutely beautiful as fall came late again this year in the mountains and all the trees are in peak color.

For dinner, we enjoyed the Healthy Choice hotdogs again and this time we remembered the marshmallows! :) Plus, Eric and I baked our first cinnamon apple on the campfire. Yum.

The next day, we hiked/climbed to another three waterfalls and explored the Stumphouse Tunnel. On our way back to Georgia we stopped at a roadstand and purchased some apples, blackberry jam and cider.

Our waterfall site has been updated with new photos of Oconee County waterfalls and our hiking/camping photos are here.
