It looks like the smaller squirrels we've seen rummaging around the front yard lately are building a nest... how cute is this? ![]() may 2 ![]() -link to this day- @ 9a | 2 cents... Earlier this week we decided to call our friends up in DC to see if we could come visit sometime this month... it turned out that this weekend was the most available, so we headed up there on Saturday morning. We were on the road by 8am and a mere 4 hours later, we were pulling into their condo parking lot. After lunch at a good thai place, we wandered around the Air and Space Museum hangars near Dulles airport. That evening, we walked around Old Town Alexandria and enjoyed some art galleries and people watching. We were up early on Sunday morning to a breakfast of homemade egg, bacon and cheese wraps (thanks Mike!) and then off to downtown Washington DC. We visited several gardens, the best being the sculpture garden and the Mary Livingston Ripley garden. We walked past all the 'Save Dafur' demonstrators to reach the National Botanical Gardens as the last place on our list of things to do. Once we filled up our bellies again, we headed back to NC. I should have the photos up this week sometime, meanwhile, here are a few choice shots of: an F4 fighter jet, the Enterprise space shuttle, the Blackbird (huge plane!) all at the Udvar-Hazy Center, the Capitol building and a pink iris at the National Botanical Gardens. ![]() |
