february 26 ![]() -link to this day- @ 9p | 2 cents... ![]() Hooray for spring! Eric is working hard to finish up his summer course and I have started a new painting... check out the progress so far. february 19 ![]() -link to this day- @ 8p | 2 cents... As promised, here are the photos of the painting I have been working on for the living room... ![]() While bringing this painting down to the living room, I managed to fall down the stairs. The painting is (obviously) fine but I will not be posting photos of the lovely bruise on my right hip. february 16 ![]() -link to this day- @ 4p | 2 cents... I have been working on some illustrations for work beyond my normal editing duties... ![]() @ 10a | 2 cents... After bragging that the winter here has been mild, we were hit with cold, hard reality. Happily, it's warmed up a bit (again) and we have the flowers to prove it. The winter daphne smells divine and this is the first of many, many dafodil blooms we are expecting over the next few weeks! ![]() Also, in the realm of "It's a Small World"... remember that friend who contacted me out of the blue about two weeks ago? Well, when we were visiting with them for dinner, we got to talking about the fact that my brother lives in LA and they used to live in Santa Monica. Now that isn't strange at all because if you've been to the LA area, you know that TONS of people live there. Anyway, I mentioned that my brother, Ryan, skydives and my friend, Mike, mentioned that he had a co-worker who did as well and has Ryan ever been to Lake Elsinore? Considering Ryan spends nearly every weekend there, I assured him that he was familiar with the place. Armed with a name, I was looking through my brother's photos and sure enough, there was Mike's co-worker! I confirmed and passed along the infomation so all parties involved can have a laugh. february 13 ![]() -link to this day- @ 3p | 2 cents... Hey! We're still alive! Honest! Let's see, what have we been up to... Eric participated in a casual retreat at church last weekend and although the first night was interesting, I gather the speaker started to repeat himself, so Eric excused himself a little early the next day. This meant he was able to get some work done before we drove to Wake Forest for our second supper club meetup. Since we met through the CookingLight.com message boards, I have been trying to prepare lighter versions of whatever I am making... our next theme will be fondue, however, so all that low-fat nonsense will be excused for the third round. :) We had some friends over for the Super Bowl the following evening and even though my team didn't make it, I was happy to see the Steelers win. When I got to work on Monday, I found out that my boss' father had passed away over the weekend, so we drove up to Hillsborough for the wake on Monday evening. The rest of week was fairly uneventful (thankfully) and we decided to catch an old movie at the art museum on Friday night. In a more general vein, I have transferred my art site to leandraganko.com until I can reregister the old name with my hosting company (looong story). Amazingly enough, my entire name wasn't already taken. :) I also received an e-mail out of the blue from an old friend of mine from college whom I haven't seen in 8 years. He and his wife invited us over for dinner on Sunday evening (they live south of Raleigh), and we had a wonderful time catching up and reminiscing about college. Their four month old daughter is adorable and their dalmation spent the evening vying for (mostly) Eric's attention. Eric has been working non-stop on an online course he's developing for this summer, so I have been working on a painting to go above our couch in the living room. It's about 80% finished... photos shortly! Check out my brand new scarf thanks to Eric's grandmother. Unbelieveably, it's even brighter in person! This Friday I'll be participating in a book club for church and after that we have a 30th birthday part to attend. Bryan's only got Eric by 3 months, then I'm next! Eeep. |
