Ocean Beach

During a quick break from my conference we enjoyed some sunshine while exploring Ocean Beach, walking down the pier for views of the coastline and the surfers enjoying the storm-driven waves.

Mission Beach & Pacific Beach is our go-to section of San Diego, and we were fortunate to spend a few days in this area again this time around. We love walking along the ocean and bay sides, plus exploring the small laneways between the two sides.

La Jolla Tide Pools – the weather was finally beautiful on Saturday, our last day in town, so after reading on the beach in the morning we drove up to La Jolla to check out the famous tidal pools at low tide. We were not disappointed! There was lots of sea life in the pools, including California sea hares, multiple species of fish, anemones, crabs, etc.

From the tidal pools we followed the coastal walk to the Children’s Pool and eventually La Jolla Cove. Along the way we enjoyed the amazing views, plus some sea lions, seals, and birds along the cliffs.

Unsurprisingly, La Jolla made for a memorable Saturday afternoon!
